To get started with the latest version of the app, open WhatsApp on your device. From there, tap on the Updates option at the bottom left of your screen. Scroll down to “Channels” and tap the + icon to start following the ones you’re interested in.
A menu will pop up, giving you the option to tap “find channels.” Once you’ve found a channel, tap the + icon again to open its feed and then tap “Follow” in the top-right corner of the screen. You can choose whether or not to be alerted for every new message by turning notifications on or off using the bell icon.
More information about the channel and managing your preferences can be found by tapping the icon next to the notifications bell. The content you can expect from the channel includes viral videos, major event highlights, brilliant features, exclusive interviews, reporter analysis, Q&As, live blogs, and the latest news. Additionally, there are sports-related items, such as a darts challenge featuring Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen, as well as upcoming match highlights.
After following the channel, you have the option to mute updates, share or forward the link with others, choose to unfollow, or report it if necessary. For a more comprehensive breakdown of the variety of content available, you can explore more information here. In the sports section, you can catch highlights of midweek action, which includes matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with special coverage on the day the January transfer window closes.
The introduction of the channel follows the acquisition of US Open, ATP, and WTA Tour rights last year and adds to the lineup of dedicated sports channels offered by Sky, providing more value for customers.
